For college counselors

Every student's application plan, worked out from published data

Add a student's scores and college list. PrepToDone works out where to apply Early Decision — and once results are in, the ED II and Regular Decision plan — in a document with your name on it, ready to send to the family.

Open now: Early Decision until Nov 15. Regular Decision opens Nov 2. ED II opens Dec 12.

How it works

  1. 01

Add a student. A label (initials or a nickname), an SAT or ACT score and their college list. No names, and no account for the student.

  2. 02

Make their document. It reads the whole list against each school's published figures and says what to do in that round — for Early Decision, which school to apply to, or that none fits.

  3. 03

Re-plan when results come in. Save each student's Early Decision result. One button makes the ED II and Regular Decision documents every student is missing.

What the family receives

  • A private link that opens without an account. Print it or save it as a PDF.
  • Your name at the top — "Prepared by" you, and your practice if you add it.
  • For each school, its own published figures: the admit rate, where the student's score sits in the school's range, what it cost families in their income band, and the deadline. Every estimate is labeled as one.
  • None of our prices appear on it.

Where the numbers come from

Admit rates and score ranges come from each school's own Common Data Set filing and from federal data — College Scorecard and IPEDS. Where a school publishes no figure, the document says so instead of guessing.

How each estimate is worked out: Methodology.

Questions

Do students or families need an account?
No. You send the family the document's link, and it opens without one.
What do you keep about my students?
The label you choose, the SAT or ACT score, the college list, an optional family income band, and the Early Decision result once you save it. Never a name or contact details — and we don't contact your students or their families.
How are students counted?
A student uses a spot the first time you make a document for them in a plan year. Adding a student doesn't use a spot, and each renewal starts the count from zero.
What does the founding offer mean?
Plans bought now run through Dec 31, 2027, then renew every Jan 1 at the same price for as long as the plan stays active.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, in your workspace under Manage billing. The plan stays active until the end of the year you paid for, and we email you before every renewal.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — a full refund within 14 days of any payment, as long as you've made documents for 3 or fewer students in that plan year. One refund per account. You can open a sample document before you pay.
Which colleges are covered?
Each college comes with the figures it publishes — its admit rate and, where it publishes one, its score range. Early Decision admit rates are shown for the schools that publish their Early Decision numbers.
Is a document a prediction of admission?
It's an estimate read off published figures, meant to support your advice, not replace it.
This result is a data-driven prediction and does not guarantee admission.
