What's behind PrepToDone
Every year, students make one of the biggest decisions of their lives on guesswork. We built PrepToDone to replace that guess with data.
Built on two things you can't fake.
PrepToDone stands on lived experience and federal data — not opinions.
The experience.
Our founder went through the US admissions process twice — as an undergraduate, and again for an MBA — earning an engineering degree from one of the top engineering programs in the country (UIUC) and an MBA from a leading US business school (UVA Darden). The same wall came up both times: scattered tools, conflicting advice, no honest read on where an applicant actually stands. So we built the tool that should have existed.
The data discipline.
Behind the scoring engine is a decade spent inside Google, Meta, and Apple — where decisions aren't made on hunches, but on data, at a scale most people never see. Show us the source. Show us the number. That standard is wired into everything PrepToDone reports.
Grounded in federal data.
Every score, every reach / match / safety call, every recommendation traces back to the U.S. Department of Education's IPEDS and College Scorecard — the same official data universities report each year — across 649 US colleges. We cite our sources. Most tools just guess. No anecdotes, no inflation.
What we promise.
Not admission — preparedness. A clear, honest read on where you stand, and exactly what to do next.
