Why this answer

The schools on your list that qualify, ranked. The first is the answer; the others are the case for it.

  1. 1. Tufts University admitted 32.0% of its Early Decision applicants against 8.5% of everyone else in the same pool — 3.8x (Common Data Set 2025-2026), and your SAT 1480 is inside its admitted middle 50% (1470–1560).
  2. 2. Boston University admitted 31.3% of its Early Decision applicants against 11.0% of everyone else in the same pool — 2.8x (Common Data Set 2025-2026), and your SAT 1480 is inside its admitted middle 50% (1420–1530).
  3. 3. Emory University admitted 22.2% of its Early Decision applicants against 8.6% of everyone else in the same pool — 2.6x (Common Data Set 2025-2026), and your SAT 1480 is inside its admitted middle 50% (1470–1550).

These are the schools on your list that take a second binding application, and the date each one set. They are dates, in the order they fall — which of them to use, if any, is a separate decision, made once you know the answer you get.

Your earliest Regular Decision deadline is Dec 1, 2026 (The University of Texas at Austin).

How to read these figures, and where they come from

This compares two rates the school published for two groups of applicants. The Early Decision pool is not a random slice of the applicants — recruited athletes, legacy applicants and QuestBridge matches are counted inside it — so this is a difference between the school’s two pools, not a multiplier on your own chances.

Where a figure is labelled Common Data Set, it comes from the school's own annual filing for the cycle named beside it — not from a federal dataset.

5 · The arithmetic

27.2% → 7.5%

Chance that every school on this list says no, before and after the anchors you accepted.

7.5%down from 27.2%

This multiplies each school’s published admit rate as if the decisions were independent. They are not — the same transcript is read by every office — so treat it as a look at the shape of the list, not a forecast about you.

How these are estimated

These are estimates. Regular starts from the school’s admit rate outside Early Decision — everyone who did not apply early, from the same filing — or from its published admit rate where the school filed no Early Decision counts. Early Decision starts from the Early Decision admit rate the school filed. Both take one factor for where your test score sits against the range that school admitted: ×0.71 below its 25th percentile; inside the range or at or above its 75th, no adjustment — we never print an estimate above the rate the school reported, because that rate counts every admit, including those admitted for reasons a test score can't show. The ×0.71 rests on our assumption about who applies (35% of applicants below the range, 45% inside it, 20% above) — no school publishes that split, and we apply the same split to the early pool. The rate a school filed for its early pool includes recruited athletes and legacy applicants; the estimate does not take them out. No estimate is printed above 90%. Because the factor is the same on both, the two estimates stand in the ratio the school’s own filing shows — its Early Decision admit rate over the admit rate of everyone else, the multiple printed on its card. Your grades, essays and activities are not inputs to either figure — they move your own result, and no published number says by how much.

For international students: the admit rates here count US and international applicants together, and the prices are averages for US families who received federal aid. If you'll need aid, check what each college gives international students before you commit to Early Decision.
